- Abstract
Adapted design methods for implantable antennas intended for on-body communication (e.g. for a pacemaker-smartphone link) are presented. Fundamental feature for optimal antennas are derived on basis of the Green's function for in-body to on-body propagation. Through the antenna characterization with dedicated on-body antenna parameters, the path loss im-provements of optimized antennas can be precisely predicted.
