Abstract

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a flat antenna configuration (plate antenna configuration, patch antenna configuration) that has a ground plate 2 and a radiator 3. SOLUTION: The radiator 3 is placed apart from the ground plate 2 by a distance, nearly in parallel with the ground plate 2 and conductively connected to the ground plate at one of end zones. A minimum voltage is produced at a connecting point between the radiator and the ground plate at a 1st (lower) resonance frequency of the antenna configuration 1 and a 1st maximum voltage is produced at an area of the other end (free end) of the radiator. The minimum voltage and a 2nd maximum voltage are produced at the abovementioned ends of the radiator 3, respectively, at the higher resonance frequency, the region of the free end 6 of the radiator is capacitively coupled with the other end 7 of the radiator, and then the other resonance frequency is characteristically decreased in proportion to three times the value at the 1st resonance frequency when the above-mentioned capacitive coupling exists. It is advantageous that the entire surface area of the radiator is used for two frequency regions and only one connecting point from the feeder to the radiator is required.
